Historic Texas Heritage Meets Luxurious Living

Downtown Cameron was home to the county offices located in seven building on the town square. Four years ago, the process began to move the offices to a centralized location giving way to the possibility of Downtown Cameron being revitalized for the first time in approximately 25 years. An entire generation has never witnessed a thriving business district. New property owners are currently in the process of restoring several buildings on the square which is in turn bringing new businesses to the business district. The activity is new and the promise of revitalization of the business district is more than wishful thinking it is currently underway as new businesses are opening rapidly.

 

The elegant and restored Milam County Courthouse sits proudly on the town square and is a hub of activity during the week as it conducts the business of the county. City Hall sits on the opposite end of the square in building restored 1891 Victorian-style building.

• Haber Wealth Management from Ft. Worth restored a historic building and opened a second location.

• The Railfan of Main is the project of Mike and Kim McMahon from Georgetown. The project includes a number of buildings and has brought three new businesses to the area as they are still working on buildings. The new businesses include Cameron Coffee Shop, ZX Made in Texas, Girly Pop Boutique, 7th & Co. Clothing, and 1846 Grill (to open this year). The Venue on Railfan is open for weddings, parties, corporate functions and more with the capacity for 400 hundred people.

• Shirley Mae Bakery is a made-from-scratch bakery featuring fresh-baked breads, sweets and breakfast items with a dining area and spot for the kids to play.

• The Cameron Beer Market was opened by a developer from the Austin area with four other locations in the surrounding areas of Leander, Lampasas, Liberty Hill, and Florence.   It is not owned and operated by a local entrepreneur.

• EBCO General Contractor has an impressive list of new building projects across the United States.

• 44 Farms provides relevant Angus genetics and innovation to cattle producers all over all over the country.

• Ideal Poultry family operated business since 1937 is the largest supplier of backyard poultry in the United States, shipping close to 5 million chicks annually.

• Charlotte Pipe is a dedicated plastics manufacturing plant. It utilizes plastic pipe extrusion lines to produce PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) pipe and fittings, which are primarily used for plumbing, water supply, and irrigation applications.

• OpenAI is currently constructing a state-of-the-art data center in Milam County with closed-loop low water-use cooling technology.

• Citizens National Bank established in 1900 with locations outside of Cameron in Cedar Park, Round Rock, Coupland, Pflugerville, Giddings, Taylor, and Rockdale.
